Commando, Rear Brake Cable

Cables This picture shows four of the different rear brake cables that we stock. We stock five rear brake cables for the Norton Commando. Two are plain cables and three have the brake switch built into the cable to replace the stock brake switch (34815). The cables are as follows:

  1. The stock factory cable, (06-0482, 13 x 20 1/2") shown on the bottom.

  2. The shorter plain cable for rear sets, (06-0482/S, 9 1/2 x 17") shown second from the top. This can be used for rear sets that have a brake switch built into the rear sets.

  3. The stock length (06-0482/SW, 13" x 20 1/2") with a brake switch built into the cable, shown third from the top. This can be used on a stock Commando when you do not want to use the stock brake switch.

  4. The shorter cable (06-0482/SWS, 9 1/2 x 17") with a brake switch built into the cable, shown on the top. This can be used on John Players and most Commandos with rear sets.

  5. A middle length cable (06-0482/SWM, 12 x 19") with a brake switch built into the cable, (Not pictured). This is to be used with some rear sets where the distance from the brake lever mounting to the rear brake are in between the stock distance and most rear sets.

Please Note: The first measurement number is the length of the cable housing, and the second number is the overall length. These lengths may vary +/- 1/4", but usually are very close.

Switch This set of pictures show the switch that is built into three of our cables.
